Montreal Original Labs is a Montreal-based manufacturer of e-liquids, dedicated to bringing innovative processes to the vape industry, while positioning itself as the world leader in tobacco flavors. |
Our mission Montreal Original’s mission is twofold. The first: building a thorough catalogue of real cigarette equivalents for the vape industry, by being at the forefront of the revolution that is natural extracts by reverse osmosis. The second: putting the city of Montreal on the map all around the world. After 10 years of commercialization in Québec, we strongly think that it is time that quebecers smokers and ex-smokers have access to tobacco flavors that closely mimics the cigarette they are leaving behind. The second : make Montreal shine for its e-liquids. With a distinct culture, a booming artistic scene, a breathtaking architecture and a unique language, the city of Montreal has its own identity and we wish to put it on display in the vaping industry.  Reverse osmosis With our mission, we also bring a revolutionary process to the electronic cigarette world: reverse osmosis. This process is commonly used in wastewater treatment and water desalination and we are bringing it for the first time in the electronic cigarette world. The method allows us to extract directly from tobacco its full aroma, without any of the residues from the plant. |
+ But what is osmosis?
Traditional osmosis is the movement of a liquid (usually water) from a less concentrated solution to a more concentrated solution through a partially permeable membrane. The 3 main advantages of the product • The taste Most existing tobacco flavors in the industry tend to be sweet. And we can’t blame the vape companies for making them. It is well known that achieving a real, dry and unsweetened taste that truly resembles traditional tobacco has been an extremely difficult feat thus far. Why? Because achieving a natural taste from artificial flavors is really hard. Most of the time, it will result in sweet, dessert-like flavors. At Montreal Original Labs, we approached the problem from a different angle. What if we could achieve a natural taste, but this time, with natural flavors? That’s what we’ve done. Our tobacco flavors are made with natural extractions from real tobacco products, which results in the closest taste to real cigarettes that the industry has ever seen. • Sweeteners Another problem that has been present in the industry is the exaggerated use of sweetener or more specifically, sucralose. Once again, there’s a reason why that component is used. It normally serves the purpose of “rounding up” flavors, or giving them a taste that is more whole, more complete when consumed. There some issues with that though. The issue closest to us is that the excessive use of sweetener tends to be harmful to the lifespan of atomizers (coils). We are now taking for granted that a good-tasting flavor is going to be hard on your coils and they won’t last very long. It doesn’t have to be that way anymore. Because we’re able to use natural flavors that encompass the real, complete taste of tobacco, we don’t need to use sweeteners in our flavors to “round them up”. They already mimic the complete flavor profiles of traditional cigarettes. In our exclusive Canadian tobacco line, none of the flavors contain sweetener or sucralose, with one exception: Ville-Marie is our take on the tobacco-dessert (because we too, we’re able to make good sweet tobacco), but it only contains 1% of sweeteners. The other five don’t have any. Additionally, the lack of sweetener in our flavors makes our products much more coil-friendly than most other products out there. Consumers have reported that their coils sometimes last up to twice as long as with other more traditional products. The low percentage of sugar in our products allows us to offer our high VG products in 80VG/20PG ratio. Customers that use our high VG option report that, while it contains 10% more vegetable glycerin than the industry standard, they work as well as the other high VG products with a proper high VG device. • Similarities and Associations Because we’re using natural flavorings from real tobacco extraction, our tobacco flavors can be similar to cigarette brands that currently exist on the market. That’s a huge plus for consumers, especially those who are just getting started with the electronic cigarette. |

| For vape shop owners and salespeople, that’s also a big advantage, since it allows them to include a new question in the typical process of helping a new user quit smoking. After asking them how many cigarettes they currently smoke a day, you can now also ask them: what brand of cigarette do you smoke? Being able to find a tobacco flavor that resembles the cigarettes you are already smoking makes for an even smoother and effortless transition. The current flavors of our main line already encompass most of Canadian cigarette brands on the market.  Strategy and Vision We recognize that our mission is not a small one. That’s why our focus is to reach massive adoption as soon as possible. We want our product to be everywhere, first in Quebec, and then around the world, so that smokers and vapers everywhere can have access to real cigarette tastes that keeps them from going back to the deadly stick. As such, a huge portion of our efforts is geared towards developing new flavors to meet every smoker’s needs – our first mission. And another big portion of our efforts is to focus on the branding of our products, so we can cement Montreal has the prime originator of these innovative products. At the end of the day, what we’ve done is created real cigarette equivalents for Canadian smokers, so they can find the taste they know in our products, and make a smoother transition from traditional cigarettes to the electronic cigarette.
